A Nigeria without Oil- can you imagine that? Without the "curse of oil" (I do not believe that!), how would Nigeria have been? Yeah, with no chaos in the South-South i do believe Nigeria will be better off but without Oil- I can't say...
Nigeria’s oil output ‘could fall by a third’- Reading this line in FT got my heart beating fast and i guess not my heart alone, the hearts of the oil consuming nations will be beating twice faster as they dread the price of oil sky-rocketing to over $200. Well, it is not yet a declaration of woe as the word "could" in the headline gave us a caveat of relief.
The article pointed to the fact that Nigeria needs to increase its investment in the Oil sector to sustain the Oil production output or else we will be losing about 30% of our output by 2015. Well, a lot more dollars can do the miracle and avert the nightmare from becoming a reality...
But beyond Oil, how is Nigeria planning to diversify its source of foreign income? Oil is finite. The Wells will become dry someday. After then, what will Nigeria depend on?
As the world looks for a future of alternative sources of energy, though the preciousness of the Black Gold will still remain intact for many years to come, what is Nigeria doing to secure her future economic income?
Nigeria without Oil...we need to set our imagination to work, the Goverment needs to become strategic in their perspective because the future must not catch us napping in a dried well.
